Dr. Dirk Basting, president of Lambda Physik, said, "We at Lambda look forward to the opportunity and responsibility of providing existing Questek customers with the high level of service and support they currently enjoy. Dr. Charles Munnerlyn, chairman and chief executive officer of VISX said, "This transaction allows us to focus on our main business of developing and selling medical systems for ophthalmic surgery and guarantees our continued access to Questek's excimer laser technology for incorporation into our products."
