CODE-ALARM EXPANDS VEHICLE LOCATOR PRODUCT LINE
 MADISON HEIGHTS, Mich., Nov. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Code-Alarm, Inc.

(NASDAQ: CODL), the leading manufacturer of vehicle security and home security systems, announced today a new marketing agreement for Code-Alarm/Teletrac and Chapman/Teletrac vehicle locator devices. Code-Alarm, Inc. recently joined forces with International Teletrac Systems of Inglewood, Calif., to distribute and market the self- contained vehicle locator units.
"Code-Alarm now offers our dealers and consumers the broadest range of vehicle security systems in the industry," stated Rand Mueller, president and CEO of Code-Alarm, Inc. "The public now can choose from a $49.95 steering wheel lock sold by our Anes Security division, consider either the Code-Alarm/Teletrac vehicle locator system or Code-Alarm's 'Intercept' stolen vehicle recovery system which includes a tracking unit, powerful cellular telephone and one of our top-of-line auto alarms. Our '911CLS' by Chapman Security Systems provides similar comprehensive protection," Mueller added.
The Code-Alarm/Teletrac and Chapman/Teletrac locator units utilize radio location technology to monitor a vehicle on a 24-hour basis. The Teletrac Control Center is alerted the instant a protected car is hot- wired. Control Center operators and the police then track the vehicle using computerized mapping, while a patrol car is dispatched to apprehend the stolen auto and thief.
Code-Alarm/Teletrac locator units will be sold through appointed Code-Alarm car/audio retail dealers in the Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit and Dallas areas beginning Jan. 1, 1992. At the same time, Chapman/ Teletrac units will be marketed through new car dealerships. Chapman Security Systems will supply the Chapman/Teletrac vehicle locator device to expediters, who install advanced electronic accessories for car dealerships. The suggested installed retail price for the Code-Alarm/ Teletrac and Chapman/Teletrac units is $699.
