COCA-COLA NESTLE REFRESHMENTS COMPANY INTRODUCES NEW READY-TO-DRINK NESTEA(R) NATURAL FLAVORED ICED TEAS

 TAMPA, Fla., March 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Coca-Cola Nestle Refreshments Company today announced the introduction of four new ready-to-drink Nestea(R) natural flavored iced teas.
 The new flavors, available in 16-ounce wide-mouth glass bottles, are:
 -- Nestea Natural Raspberry Flavored Iced Tea
 -- Nestea Natural Peach Flavored Iced Tea
 -- Nestea Natural Tropical Flavored Iced Tea
 -- Nestea Natural Apple Spice Flavored Iced Tea
 "These new ready-to-drink Nestea natural flavored iced teas take refreshment to a new level. Consumer interest in flavored iced teas is rapidly growing, and these new flavored teas excel in the attributes iced tea drinkers prefer and have become accustomed to with ready-to- drink Nestea Iced Tea," said Harry E. Teasley, president and CEO of Coca-Cola Nestle Refreshments Company.
 Nestea(R) natural flavored iced teas deliver a good balance of flavors, clarity and a clean, genuine tea taste with no bitter aftertaste. They contain no preservatives, artificial colors or artificial flavors.
 "The ready-to-drink Nestea flavored iced teas are exciting products. With these new flavors and our core Nestea ready-to-drink products, Nestea Iced Tea with Sweetener and Natural Lemon Flavor and diet Nestea with Natural Lemon Flavor introduced in January 1992, we have the quality and variety of ready-to-drink iced teas consumers are demanding," said Jim Maloney, chairman and CEO, Coca-Cola Bottling of New York.
 Don Cameron, general manager of Cameron Coca-Cola Bottling Company, added, "Nestea is a very positive product line for us, exceeding our expectations. Flavored iced teas are bringing new consumers into the category and fueling additional growth. The Nestea natural flavored iced teas are superior products and we know they will have a major impact."
 In 1992, ready-to-drink iced tea volume surged 40 percent to 60 million 192-ounce cases and retail dollar sales soared 50 percent. In less than one year since its initial launch, ready-to-drink Nestea Iced Tea captured market leadership with a 21.2 percent market share.
 "We firmly believe that emerging consumer lifestyles will continue to drive the growth of Nestea and the ready-to-drink iced tea category. First, ready-to-drink iced teas satisfy the evolving consumer desire for taste and variety. Second, consumers want quality products that they perceive as healthy and good for them, complementing their desire for more 'balanced' lifestyles. And third, busy, on-the-go lives require the convenience of ready-to-drink iced teas," added Teasley.
 Coca-Cola Nestle Refreshments Company was formed in 1991 as a joint venture between The Coca-Cola Company and Nestle S.A. to develop and market ready-to-drink coffee, tea and chocolate beverages. In addition to ready-to-drink Nestea(R) Iced Tea in the United States, Coca-Cola Nestle Refreshments Company has launched Nestea in Taiwan, Italy and Korea. The company also has introduced ready-to-drink Nescafe(R) coffee in Korea.
