COCA-COLA ENTERPRISES $250 MILLION NOTES RATED 'A+' BY FITCH
 -- FITCH FINANCIAL WIRE --
NEW YORK, Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc.'s new issue of $250 million 8 percent debentures due Sept. 15, 2022, is rated 'A+' by Fitch. The credit trend is stable.
The rating reflects the magnitude and stability of Coca-Cola Enterprises' cash flow, its leading position in a recession-resistant industry, geographic diversity, the strength of its management team, and the imputed credit support of The Coca-Cola Co., which is a 44 percent owner.
The company's historically close relationship with major shareholder Coca-Cola Co., which has demonstrated its willingness and ability to assist its bottlers, is a key credit support for the ratings and helps mitigate its comparatively high debt leverage and below average interest coverage.
Fitch views Coca-Cola Enterprises' prospects favorably, given the historic strength of the soft drink business in general and the performance of Coca-Cola products in particular. This results in very low business risk within the domestic Coca-Cola bottler industry. The company's territory spans almost every major market, including some of the fastest growing regions of the country, leaving Coca-Cola Enterprises especially well positioned to benefit from any de-emphasis in competitive pricing.
