CN NORTH AMERICA APPOINTS JACK ALLEN TO IMPLEMENT TRINATIONAL STRATEGY

 CHICAGO, Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- CN North America has appointed J.R. (Jack) Allen to further develop and implement its Canada-U.S.-Mexico intermodal strategy, announced John Guppy, the railroad's senior vice- president, marketing.
 Mr. Allen, who will be based in Chicago, brings 33 years of rail management experience to the new post. As regional manager, Intermodal, he will be the person who will foster close collaboration with customers and win-win cooperation with other carriers to build an efficient and cost-effective continental freight transportation network.
 The Philadelphia native and Wharton graduate started with Norfolk & Western in 1960, joined the original Norfolk Southern (NS) in 1966, and served with the Rock Island (RI) in Philadelphia, New York and Pittsburgh, after NS was absorbed in 1969 by the Southern Railway. After RI liquidated in 1980, he joined CN as district sales manager. Within a year, he was promoted to regional sales manager, a New York-based position that he held until this latest promotion.
 Mr. Allen is currently president of the Traffic Club of New York.
