CMS ENERGY UNIT FORMS GAS MARKET VENTURE WITH TORCO

 DEARBORN, Mich., Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- CMS Energy Corporation (NYSE: CMS) and Torco Holdings, Inc., of Chicago today announced that their natural gas marketing units, CMS Gas Marketing and Torco Gas Marketing, Inc., have reached an agreement to jointly market natural gas in the Chicago and northern Illinois area.
 Under the agreement, CMS Gas Marketing will provide Torco with 100 percent of its natural gas requirements as well as assist Torco in increasing its share of the Illinois natural gas market.
 "Teaming up with Torco allows us to expand our sales base. Torco's strong name and presence in the Chicago area should allow this marketing venture to capture an increased share of the industrial and commercial natural gas market," said William W. Schivley, vice president of CMS Gas Marketing.
 "A combination of our two companies' marketing capabilities allows us to offer a complete menu of services and competitive supply options to the natural gas customers of greater Chicago and northern Illinois," said A.M. (Tony) Tortoriello, chairman and chief executive officer of Torco.
 CMS Gas Marketing personnel will join with Torco personnel in serving Illinois customers. They will be available to new and existing customers for consultation on opportunities for natural gas supply balancing and pipeline transportation efficiencies.
 Torco is a privately owned energy marketing company that has served the midwestern U.S. for 32 years with supplies of fuel oil, natural gas and wholesale electricity. It has satellite businesses in Wheaton, St. Charles and Dundee, Ill.; and Milwaukee.
 CMS Gas Marketing currently serves more than 400 customers in 15 states, with annual purchase and resale of approximately $160 million of natural gas. It offers gas procurement, storage and gathering services to customers of 25 local gas distribution utilities in the east central and midwestern regions of the United States.
