 CMS ENERGY ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENTS
 DEARBORN, Mich., Dec. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- William T. McCormick Jr.,


chairman and chief executive officer of CMS Energy Corporation (NYSE: CMS), announced today the following executive appointments which were approved by CMS Energy's board of directors.
 -- S. Kinnie Smith Jr., 60, is elected vice chairman of CMS Energy Corporation. He also continues as vice chairman of Consumers Power Company, the principal subsidiary of CMS Energy.
 Smith has been president of CMS Energy.
 -- Victor J. Fryling, 43, is elected president of CMS Energy, succeeding Smith. Fryling also joins Smith as a vice chairman of Consumers Power Company. Fryling has served as chief financial officer of CMS Energy and Consumers Power Company.
 -- Frederick W. Buckman, 45, president of Consumers Power Company, is given the additional responsibility of chief executive officer of the utility. He succeeds McCormick, who will remain chairman of Consumers Power Company.
 -- Michael G. Morris, 44, executive vice president of Consumers Power Company, adds the additional responsibility of chief operating officer of the utility, succeeding Buckman.
 -- Alan M. Wright, 46, is elected senior vice president and chief financial officer of CMS Energy and Consumers Power Company, succeeding Fryling. Wright has been vice president, Finance of Consumers Power Company.
 The new executive appointments will become effective Jan. 1, 1992.
 CMS Energy Corporation is a $3 billion (sales) diversified energy company with businesses engaged in the distribution of electricity and natural gas, interstate storage and transmission of natural gas, oil and gas exploration and production, independent power generation and utility services. CMS Energy Corporation's principal subsidiary is Consumers Power Company, Michigan's largest utility and the nation's fourth- largest gas and electric utility.
