CMS BOARD APPROVES SECOND-QUARTER DIVIDEND INCREASE

 DEARBORN, Mich., July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of the CMS Energy Corporation (NYSE: CMS) today declared a dividend of 18 cents per share on the corporation's common stock, payable Aug. 23, 1993, to shareholders of record on Aug. 9, 1993.
 The 18-cents-per-share dividend represents a 50-percent increase over the current 12-cent level and implements the increase previously announced by the company in May 1993.
 CMS Energy Corporation is a $3.3 billion (sales) diversified energy company with businesses engaged in electric and natural gas utility operations; independent power production; interstate storage, transmission and marketing of natural gas; oil and gas exploration and production, and utility services. CMS Energy Corporation's principal subsidiary is Consumers Power Company, Michigan's largest utility and the nation's fourth-largest gas and electric utility.
