The net results from operations reflect lower than anticipated revenues derived from CLO 2(R) systems sales, combined with the company's commitment to a long-term business plan which requires investment in its personnel and products. CLO 2(R) systems sales were lower than expected as a result of anticipated fourth quarter sales being delayed until fiscal 1993. This delay, combined with increased competition, resulted in a substantial loss for the fourth quarter. The increased expenses are associated wi network of dealers, together with its own sales and marketing force. The extended duration of the economic recession has had a negative impact on the company's financial results and may continue to result in delays of purchase decisions by clients in the company's target markets.
During fiscal 1993, the company is anticipating the release of a number of new products which have been under development. These include:
 1) An Executive Query System (EQS) for the Company's CLO 2(R) product, which will enable non-technical managers in the law firm to view data from CLO 2(R) in an easy-to-use, flexible manner, using the popular dBase format.
 2) A new generation of the company's PC DOCS(R) document management product, which will operate in a client/server architecture and provide an open SQL database environment. Featuring a Windows user interface, PC DOCS OPEN(TM) runs on major network operating systems such as Novell, Banyan and Lan Manager, and will integrate with a variety of popular Windows applications available in the market, including WordPerfect, Microsoft Word, Ami Pro, Excel and Lotus 1-2-3. Twenty-five hundred copies of the pre-released version of PC DOCS OPEN(TM) has already been purchased by one of the largest law firms in the world.
 3) A new generation of the company's Corporate LawPack(R) product, for use by the internal legal departments of corporations and governmental agencies. As with PC DOCS OPEN(TM), this new application is client/server and utilizes a SQL database together with a Windows user interface.
 4) A new version of the company's DocuDraft(TM) document assembly product, which allows users to embed WordPerfect documents with powerful commands that control the logic of creating complex documents based on different criteria. Of particular significance is DocuDraft(TM)'s ability to work with popular databases by allowing users to easily create documents that use or contain information stored in dBase-type files.
 5) A new product, MarketSense(TM), which allows law firms as well as other organizations to enter and maintain clients and prospects in a sophisticated database. This application utilizes DocuDraft(TM) to provide users with an extremely powerful reporting mechanism, including the generation of customized documents based on the contents of the marketing database.
CMS/DATA Corporation and its subsidiaries, CompInfo, Inc. and Canterbury Systems, Corp. design, market, support and integrate systems for the legal profession; and its subsidiary, PC DOCS, Inc., targets its document management and control system product to business and government agencies, as well as the legal market.
