CMC chairman refutes charges by ex-official.

DOHA Central Municipal Commission Chairman Saud al Hanzab has said that the lawsuit filed by former general secretary Abdulaziz Abdulkader al Ahmed against him, CMC member representing Al Wakra area and four local newspapers is just a publicity stunt. According to Al Watan daily, Hanzab alleged: "the former general secretary went to court to get relief from the shock of him getting removed from his post". He said that Ahmed's case does not hold water, and even the CMC's legal expert is convinced that the Council is in the right.

Ahmed claims that the secret ballot was held after he had left for another job and had presented a request letter to the CMC on February 28, 2013.

Hanzab said that the CMC did not receive any such letter, till the day of voting. (TNN)
