CM directs PHE department to expedite all water projects in Balochistan.
QUETTA: Reviewing Public Health Engineering Department (PHE)'s departmental affairs on Thursday Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan has directed the department to expedite progress on all water development projects across Balochistan. Provincial PHE Minister Noor Muhammad Dummar, Secretary PHE Abdul Fatah Bhangar and department officials were present in the session.
CM Jam Kamal was briefed regarding departmental affairs, functional and non-functional water schemes, QESCO dues, dam projects in Gwadar and water projects in next Federal PSDM. Addressing the session CM Jam Kamal said, the provincial government is committed to provide access of clean drinking water to the masses in Balochistan which is for the PHE department needs to enhance their capabilities, Expressing concern of unnecessary use of water by public Jam Kamal said, the PHE department should launch awareness campaigns regarding importance of water and WASA monthly billing.
CM directed the PHE department to complete survey regarding new dams, speedy steps to address water issues in Bhag, fictionalization of Desalination Plant in Gwadar and Kachi Water Project. "Functionalization of Water Treatment Plants in Quetta would be helpful to use water in construction work, parks and service stations.
" Jam Kamal said and directed WASA to digitalize billing system.
