CLUB MEETINGS.

REDCAR LECTURE SOCIETY: The society will be meeting on Tuesday, January 28, at the new venue; Redcar East Community Centre on Durham Road, from 2.15pm. Gordon Hetherington will give a presentation entitled '45 years on the Game' and admission for nonmembers is PS2.

THE CLEVELAND AND TEESSIDE LOCAL HISTORY SOCIETY: The society will present two talks at the Dorman Museum, Middlesbrough, on Saturday, February 15. The first talk, Norton Iron Works and Big Ben will be given by Alan Betteney from 10-11am, followed by John Harmison's North East Yorkshire Hills from 11.30-12.30pm. Admission is free and all are welcome.

THE GREAT AYTON BRANCH OF THE WORKERS' EDUCATION ASSOCIATION: The branch will be running two eight week courses beginning this month. The first, A Passion for Blue and White concerning the social history of blue and white porcelain, will be tutored by Tony Powell from 1.30-3.30pm every Tuesday from January 28. The second, Mills and Milling, about the history of grain and flour production tutored by John Harrison and Peter Morgan, will be held from 7.15-9.15pm on Thursdays from January 30. Both cost PS48 for the full eight weeks (PS3 for claimants) and will be held at the Friends' Meeting House, Great Ayton. ST MARY'S WEST ACKLAM SOCIAL CLUB: The social club meets on Tuesdays at 7.30pm in the church hall on the corner of Green Lane and St Mary's Walk, Middlesbrough. On Tuesday, January 28, the club will be enjoying Malcolm's Games Night, this is for members only. For more details on the club, call 01642 818120.

CLEVELAND RETIRED MEN'S ASSOCIATION: David Rodway will talk about By Train across Canada on Wednesday, January 29, at Ayton Drive Community Hall, Redcar. Coffee will be served from 9.30am and the talk will start at 10.30am. For details call 01642 472793.
