CLOWN OF THE WEEK.

THE pukkah Royal Navy skipper whose wee boats ran out of fuel in the middle of a massive Nato exercise faced a real double whammy.

He thought it would all soon be plain sailing after he tracked down supplies at a tiny garage on Lewis.

But, not only did he have to fork out a whopping 94p a litre for the fuel - Britain's most expensive - he also had to wait until the garage owner opened up on Monday to fill up.

Britannia may rule the waves - but not Lewis on the Sabbath.
