CLOROX CITES SIMPLE SOLUTION TO LEAD IN ATLANTA AREA DRINKING WATER
OAKLAND, Calif., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Today's announcement by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) identifies several Atlanta area cities that exceed the lead action level of 15 parts per billion (ppb) established under the Safe Drinking Water Act. According to EPA, approximately 50-80 percent of lead comes from home plumbing. Pregnant women, infants on formula and young are at highest risk.
The Clorox Co. cites its BRITA Water Filtering Pitcher as a simple, inexpensive solution to lead in drinking water. BRITA's reduction claim -- eliminates 93 percent of lead -- is registered with the EPA and certified by NSF International in Ann Arbor, Mich., the nation's leading certification laboratory for water filtration products. BRITA is sold in 44 countries worldwide.
The BRITA filter requires no installation. Each replaceable filter processes up to 35 gallons of tap water.
The BRITA Water Filtering Pitcher retails for about $25, and the replaceable filter retails for $7-$8. BRITA is available at a wide variety of retail outlets including grocery, department, health food, drug and discount stores locally. Consumers may also call 800-44-BRITA for a convenient store location.
