 CLEVELAND INVESTOR GROUP ACQUIRES CENCOR
CLEVELAND, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- A group of Cleveland area

investors led by A. Malachi Mixon, III, chairman president and chief executive officer of Invacare Corporation (NASDAQ: IVCR); Francis J. Callahan, president of Crawford Fitting Company; and Nancy G. Taber, regional manager of Cencor Temporary Services, has acquired Cencor's Ohio Operations in a $3 million transaction.
Cencor, with projected 1992 sales of $16 million and 1991 sales of $11.5 million, is one of the largest providers of temporary services in the Greater Cleveland area and operates 14 offices throughout Ohio, including Akron, Cincinnati, Dayton and Warren. It provides a full range of temporary employees, including clerical, industrial, technical and managerial positions.
The group acquired the Ohio operations from CenCor, Inc. (NASDAQ: CNCR), a publicly traded company headquartered in Kansas City, Mo. The Ohio business, founded in 1962 in East Cleveland, will operate initially as CenCor Temporary Services and will change its name later in 1992. Taber is president and chief executive officer of the new company.
"With corporations operating leaner, we feel the temporary employment services industry will prosper throughout the 1990s, particularly as business conditions rebound from the recession and companies are reluctant to quickly add full-time employees. Nancy Taber is a dynamic entrepreneur, and all of us in the investor group are confident of her ability to capitalize on these trends," Mixon said.
"CenCor will build on its leadership position in the market, where it has helped many major corporations establish temporary employment programs and is serving a wide array of companies, ranging from small business to Fortune 500 companies," Taber said.
