TOUR; FOCUS ON EDUCATION TO BENEFIT CLEVELAND ACADEMY OF FINANCE
New York Stock Exchange chairman and chief executive officer William H. Donaldson will meet with students, city officials and business leaders during a NYSE bicentennial visit to Cleveland on April 3.
The NYSE selected Cleveland as the first stop on a tour of a dozen cities nationwide in celebration of the NYSE's bicentennial year. While in Cleveland, Donaldson will focus on the importance of education in discussions with students and faculty of the Cleveland Academy of Finance at East High School. Mayor Michael R. White, along with Robert Gillespie, chairman of Society Corporation, and other civic and business leaders are also scheduled to visit the Academy with Donaldson.
In addition, a fund-raising dinner to benefit the academy will be held April 3. Donaldson, joined by Thomas M. O'Donnell, chairman of McDonald & Company, who is also chairman of the NYSE Regional Firms Advisory Committee, will co-chair the event, which will be attended by representatives of the NYSE member firms community in Cleveland and officials of Ohio-based companies listed on the NYSE. McDonald & Company is host to the NYSE's bicentennial event in Cleveland.
During the day, Donaldson will also speak to area stock brokers and investor relations professionals, to students, faculty and graduates of the Weatherhead School of Business at Case Western Reserve University, and will address the City Club Forum.
