CLEARLY CANADIAN BEVERAGE CORP. CONTINUES TURN-AROUND WITH FIRST QUARTER SALES

 VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Clearly Canadian Beverage Corp. (NASDAQ: CLCDF; Vancouver: CLV) today reported financial results for the quarter ended March 31, 1993. All figures are in U.S. dollars.
 Net income for the three-month period was $1,802,000, equal to $0.12 per share. For the corresponding period in 1992, the company reported net income of $3,717,000, or $0.24 per share. Revenues for the 1993 period were $21,108,000, compared to $40,576,000 last year.
 "Of great significance is the steady progress we continue to make. In the last quarter of 1992, 2,535,997 cases of Clearly Canadian were sold, generating $15,590,000 in revenue. In the first quarter of this year, we sold 3,851,037 beverage cases generating revenues of $21,108,000," said Douglas L. Mason, chairman and chief executive officer.
 During the quarter, the company successfully introduced a new flavor, Summer Strawberry.
 A.C. Nielsen research continues to show that Clearly Canadian is the dominant brand in the New Age beverage category.
 Clearly Canadian Beverage Corp. produces and markets Clearly Canadian(R), a line of natural mineral waters and flavored sparkling water beverages. Through distribution agreements, Clearly Canadian(R) is sold throughout the United States, Canada, Japan, Great Britain and Ireland, Caribbean and Mexico.
