CLEAN-FLO LABS PARTNERS WITH FRENCH CONSTRUCTION FIRM TO CLEAN UP FRENCH RIVERS

ST. PAUL, Minn., July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Clean-Flo Laboratories Inc., a Hopkins-based company that removes pollutants from lakes, rivers and reservoirs, will sign a partnership agreement today with Spie Citra, a large French construction firm and the fifth largest company in France. The signing agreement will take place today at 3 p.m. at the World Trade Conference Center on the 3rd floor of the World Trade Center building.
Robert Laing, Clean-Flo president, said the agreement was reached with Spie Citra following a successful restoration of a 43 kilometer stretch of the L'helpe Mincure River near Fourmies, France, last year. As a result of the successful restoration, Liang said the company last week was awarded two prestigious environmental awards by the French government.
The French government recently allocated $3 billion for future river restoration and Clean-Flo hopes to tap additional French business with this new agreement. Under the arrangement with Spie Citra, Clean-Flo will design and provide equipment for the river cleanup projects. Spie Citra, with 79 offices in France, will negotiate and manage the contracts and install and maintain the Clean-Flo systems.
Since the Minnesota Trade Office first assisted Clean-Flo in winning a water restoration contract in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1987, the company has established operations in Japan, Korea, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, France and Great Britain.
Jacques Prou, a Spie Citra official, is in Minnesota to finalize the agreement.
The Minnesota Trade Office, a division of the Department of Trade and Economic Development, provides export education, counseling, finance and international networking services to Minnesota businesses.
