CLARIFICATION OF OWNERSHIP OF ONE MERIDIAN PLAZA ISSUED
In an effort to correct possible misconceptions about the ownership

and management of One Meridian Plaza, Meridian Bancorp is requesting that the media please note and include, whenever possible, the following information in their reports:
-- The building named One Meridian Plaza is owned by E/R Associates, a Pennsylvania partnership, whose partners are Richard I. Rubin & Co., The Equitable Life Assurance Society of the U.S. (a New York corporation), and Alegmeen Burgerlijk Pensionenfonds (a Dutch pension fund company). The building is managed by Richard I. Rubin & Co., Inc.
-- Though the name of the building is One Meridian Plaza, Meridian previously leased only six of the 37 floors in the structure (the 37th, 36th, seventh, fifth, fourth and third). In addition, Meridian previously had space in the building's concourse level, and had a limited-service branch with two automated teller machines on the ground floor.
-- The building previously served as Meridian's Delaware Valley regional headquarters. Meridian's corporate headquarters and its operations center are both located in Berks County.
CONTACT: George Biechler, 215-655-2470, or Bob Shade, 215-655-2463, both of Meridian.
