CLAIR NOLL TO CONCLUDE 33-YEAR PENNSYLVANIA POWER & LIGHT CO. CAREER; MICHAEL HILL APPOINTED VICE PRESIDENT-INFORMATION SERVICES

 ALLENTOWN, Pa., June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Clair W. Noll of Fleetwood, Pennsylvania Power & Light Co.'s (NYSE: PPL) (PP&L) vice president- Information Services, will close out a 33-year company career when he retires on Aug. 1.
 Noll will be succeeded by Michael D. Hill of Emmaus, manager- System Operation.
 Noll started with PP&L in 1960 as a methods accountant and was made assistant supervisor-Computer Center two years later. He was promoted to director-Systems & Computer Services in 1978 and to vice president- Procurement & Computer Services six years later. He was named vice president-Information Services in 1991.
 Hill joined PP&L in 1965 as an engineer in Substation Design and held several positions in the relay and control engineering section. He was promoted to manager-Relay & Control Engineering in 1977 and five years later was made project manager for the Power Management System Computer Replacement Project. In 1989 he was promoted to manager-Bulk Power Engineering, the post he held before being named manager-System Operation in 1991.
 A native of Philadelphia, Hill earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Villanova University. He is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania.
 PP&L supplies electricity to a 10,000-square-mile area of 29 counties in Central Eastern Pennsylvania. Among the communities it serves are Allentown, Bethlehem, Harrisburg, Hazleton, Lancaster, Scranton, Wilkes-Barre and Williamsport.
