CJF members felicitate recipients of presidential awards.

PESHAWAR -- The Culture Journalists Forum (CJF) has felicitated the recipients of presidential awards Asif Khan, Nuashaba and Laiqzada Laiq and urged government not to underestimate the ailing artists, writers and intellectuals who are confined to bed.

Members of the CJF have held a meeting, here on Sunday chaired by Ihtisham Toru. They urged upon the concerned quarters to continue decorating other talented and deserving artists, writers and intellectuals for their sincere contributions in the field of art, culture, literature and education so that they could be encouraged and inspire others to work for the country.

Ihtisham Toru chief of the CJF told the meeting his organization would continue working for the welfare of ailing artists. He said government should not forget those ailing artists and writers who had no source of income and had been bedridden since long. "We should not forget those senior artists and literati who have been facing financial constraints and have been ailing since long. Financial assistance should be extended to all of them," the chief of CJf added.

"Decorating talented artists and literati with awards will inspire other people to contribute to their respective fields through their skill and inborn talent. The biggest asset for an artist and poet always remain to be public appreciation and recognition of their sincere services at government level," the meeting said.

The said recipients recently were conferred with the award of pride of performance on 23rd March by Mahtab Ahmad Khan, Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Participants of the meeting congratulated Asif Khan-superstar of Pashto movies, Nuashaba-noted TV artist and Laiqzada Laiq -senior Pashto poet on receiving, the coveted presidential award -the pride of performance on their outstanding performance in their respective fields. "We extend our heartiest felicitations to the recipients of presidential awards who were well -deserved. Asif Khan, Nuashaba and Laiqzada Laiq have been contributing to Pashto cinema industry, TV drama and Pashto literature for the last many years," the meeting said. Asif Khan being superstar of Pashto movies in its golden era had played lead roles and had left indelible marks on the minds of viewers while noted artist, Nuashaba too had acted out memorable characters in numerous radio, TV and stage plays. Senior Pashto poet Laiqzada Laiq being a prolific writer had composed best ever poetic pieces, the participants elaborated.

The participants while praising the decision of giving awards to the senior artists and poet maintained that they well deserved adding that they had been contributing immensely to art and culture of the militancy-hit province.

The CJF members said the government should not forget those ailing artists and writers who had no source of income and had been bedridden since long. The biggest asset for an artist, writer and poet always remain to be public appreciation and recognition of their sincere services at government level, they added.

Decorating talented artists and literati with awards will inspire other people to contribute to their respective fields through their skill and inborn talent, they stated.
