CITY RATED.

Byline: ANTHONY JEPSON

EDERSON Got in a mix with Mangala that was nearly costly but produced a fine save from van Aanholt and dealt with late penalty. 8 KYLE WALKER Up against danger man Zaha and van Aanholt, he approached it with the right amount of aggression. 8 NICOLAS OTAMENDI Excelled in both facets of his game - defending and passing. Solid, but a reliable springboard for attacks. 8 ELIAQUIM MANGALA Did the right thing by keeping it simple - and even when he got in a tangle with Ederson his block ended the threat. 7 DANILO Kept Townsend relatively quiet but his uncertainty going forward meant the Blues lacked another dimension. 6 KEVIN DE BRUYNE Could be mentally tired - his passing was not as precise or penetrative, and his shots at goal lacked any real threat. 5 FERNANDINHO Did his defensive job almost perfectly, snuffing out threats from Zaha and Cabaye. Pick of the City midfield trio. 7 ILKAY GUNDOGAN Has done a good job of filling Silva's boots, but did not exert enough influence against a rugged Palace midfield. 5 BERNARDO SILVA Such a neat and clever footballer, but he needs to use those attributes in dangerous areas more. 5 GABRIEL JESUS His injury looked ominous. But he had been largely ineffective up until that point - his form has not been good for a while. 5 LEROY SANE Should have made more of City counter-attacks, and his petulance earned him a fifth booking of the season. 5 Subs Sergio Aguero (for Jesus 24): Hit the post, unlucky 7 Raaheem Sterling (for Gundogan 56): Couldn't get it right 5 Yaya Toure (for Bernardo 81): No time to mark Not used: Bravo, Stones, Adarabioyo, Zinchenko HAVE YOUR SAY Give your ratings on the Blues at manchestereveningnews.co.uk
