CITIZENS NATIONAL CORPORATION REPORTS RESULTS

 NAPLES, Fla., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Citizens National Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: CNCN) and its wholly owned subsidiary Citizens National Bank of Naples, announced third quarter 1993 earnings.
 The third quarter's net income of $852,350 was $19,625 or 2.3 percent below the same period one year ago.
 Net income for the first nine months of 1993 was $2,418,916 representing a $192,824 or 8.7 percent increase over the $2,226,092 earned in the first three quarters of 1992.
 Weighted average earnings per common share in the third quarter were $.20 compared to $.21 for the same period in 1992. Year-to-date earnings per share were $.57 compared to $.53 during the same period in 1992.
 Through Sept. 30, 1993, the corporation has paid three quarterly dividends of $.06 per share each.
 Total assets on Sept. 30, 1993 were $285,046,889, reflecting a $37,259,350 increase or 15 percent over the same period one year ago.
 Citizens National Bank opened its seventh office at the Crossroads Market Shopping Center on Pine Ridge Road in Naples, Fla. on Oct. 4, 1993.
 The corporation has signed a Definitive Agreement to merge with AmSouth Corporation. The merger is expected to be concluded by the end of the first quarter of 1994.
