CITIZENS FEDERAL ELECTS CRAIGIE TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

DAYTON, Ohio, Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Citizens Federal Bank, F.S.B. (Federal Savings Bank) announced today that Cheryl A. Craigie, vice president and general manager of WDTN-TV2 in Dayton, has been elected to the bank's board of directors. She will also serve as a director of the bank's holding company, CitFed Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ/NMS: CTZN).
"We're especially pleased to elect an individual with such impressive qualifications to our board," said chairman and president Jerry L. Kirby. "Citizens Federal has always taken great pride in the community leadership and management skills associated with our directors. We believe Cheryl meets these same quality standards and will be a great asset in helping formulate the policies governing our corporations."
Craigie, 36, has been at Channel 2, a division of The Hearst Corporation, since January 1991. Her current board appointments include the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, the Wright State University Foundation and the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra Association. Craigie came to Dayton from KMBC-TV in Kansas City, Mo., where she served as general, national and local sales manager. Her career previously included stops at television stations in Chicago, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. She is a native of Drexel Hill, Pa., near Philadelphia.
A 1978 graduate of Penn State University, Craigie was the first woman promoted within The Hearst Corporation to the positions of vice president and general manager as well as local, national and general sales manager. Her election is consistent with Citizens Federal's belief in a properly balanced board that reflects the populations in the communities it serves.
"I envision Citizens Federal as having some of the same goals we have at Channel 2, and I look forward to helping the bank reach those goals," said Craigie. "The ability to understand the market and respond to its needs is a cornerstone of most successful businesses. Citizens Federal's track record in this regard is unchallenged."
Craigie's election brings to nine the number of current board members. A complete list follows:
