CITIBANK EXTENDS SAFECARD AGREEMENT THROUGH 1999

 CHEYENNE, Wyo., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- SafeCard Services, Inc. (NYSE: SSI) announced today that the company's agreement with Citibank (South Dakota), N.A. was extended from Dec. 31, 1997 through Dec. 31, 1999.
 During fiscal 1992, Citibank, SafeCard's largest customer, represented approximately 37 percent of SafeCard's subscription revenue.
 "We are excited about extending our contract with Citibank through the end of this decade," said W.M. Stalcup Jr., SafeCard's president. "All of us at SafeCard very much appreciate Citibank's confidence in SafeCard, which the extension demonstrates, and we are committed to maintaining and developing this valued relationship."
 SafeCard Services, Inc. is the world's largest provider of credit card registry services and also provides other enhancement services through its credit card issuer clients.
