CITEL and BroadSoft partner. (Strategic Alliances).

CITEL Technologies, a provider of IP telephony and communications solutions, has announced it has partnered with BroadSoft to deliver a better migration choice for Nortel PBX customers who require the advanced capabilities of a next-generation hosted PBX and IP Centrex offering. The companies announced they are working together to meet increasing customer demand fur more choices in terms of new IP applications, alternative vendors and improved value. The goal of CITEL and BroadSoft is to answer all of these requirements by enabling customers to leverage their current legacy telephone investment, while migrating to an advanced and open IP solution with products that arc interoperable across multiple vendor lines. The CITEL Technologies and BroadSoft solution enables Nortel users to benefit from Broad Works hosted PBX and IP Centrex capabilities, which can be delivered to the legacy telephone handsets of enterprise customers via the CITELlink IP Handset Gateway. It is intended that the partnership will enable N ortel customers to gain access to the operational efficiencies of BroadWorks and benefit from a comprehensive suite of enhanced IP telephony and voice services like voice mail, auto-attendant and personal calling features such as selective call forwarding, simultaneous ring and click-to-dial. BroadWorks' hosted communications platform was designed to provide a range of applications including hosted PBX and IP Centrex. BroadWorks positions itself as capable of providing these applications with the reliability, scalability, redundancy and regulatory capabilities requited to deliver carrier-class service. The company stares that it can help enable service providers to increase top-line revenue by offering enhanced services to enterprise customers, and reduce operational expenditures by empowering enterprises to manage their own moves, adds and changes via the CommPilot Web portal. The open, standards-based environment of BroadWorks helps provide flexibility for service providers to customize their offerings. Wit h open interfaces to legacy systems, BroadWorks enhanced network applications can integrate legacy systems and support incremental migration plans. The CITELlink IP Handset Gateway can offer customers a lower cost of ownership in a converged infrastructure, resulting in easier implementations, extended use and IP-enhanced functionality for legacy telephones, while enabling improved productivity throughout an organization. Nortel customers can have expanded choices when moving, renovating or upgrading their existing PBX systems. With CITELlink, customers can choose to implement a new, hosted PEX and IP Centrex solutions from BroadSoft, while retaining a large part (up to 65 percent) of their existing communications investment, the telephones and associated wiring.
