CIS countries to discuss creation of reserve fund for providing assistance to states in emergencies.

The 26th meeting of the interstate council for natural and man-made emergency situations will be held in Cholpon-Ata on September 5-6, the press service of Ministry of Emergency Situations reports on September 5. Representatives of emergency departments from CIS countries will participate in the event where they will summarize the activities of the interstate council in 2012-2013. In addition, the measures to improve further cooperation in the field of prevention and liquidation of natural and man-made emergency situations will be discussed. Issues concerning the work of CIS forces for the elimination of consequences of natural and man-made disasters are included as part of the event's agenda. Other topics on agenda include the agreement on cooperation in the field of prevention and liquidation of emergency situations, creation of CIS reserve fund to provide assistance to states affected by natural and man-made disasters, the Ministry said.
