CIRCUIT COURT DISMISSES SUIT AGAINST CENTEL

 CHICAGO, Feb. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Centel Corp. (NYSE: CNT) announced today (Monday) the Circuit Court of Cook County, Ill., dismissed without prejudice the action brought on behalf of Centel's shareowners challenging the fairness of the corporation's merger with Kansas City- based Sprint Corp. (NYSE: FON)
 Judge Thomas J. O'Brien entered an agreed order dismissing In Re Centel Corporation Shareholders Litigation, No. 92 CH 5152,'' after being informed that the attorneys for the plaintiffs (the shareowners) wanted to voluntarily dismiss the action.
 Still pending in the federal district court in Chicago is another class action suit on behalf of certain Centel shareowners opposed to the merger. Centel said it believes that the lawsuit is without merit.
 Chicago-based Centel and Sprint have announced they expect the merger of the two companies to be completed in March, pending regulatory approvals.
 Centel, which had 1992 revenues of $1.2 billion, provides local telephone service through 1.6 million subscriber lines in six states and manages cellular communications franchises in 42 metropolitan markets and in more than 50 rural service areas.
 Sprint is a diversified international telecommunications company with $9.2 billion in annual revenues and has the United States' only nationwide all-digital, fiber-optic network. Its divisions provide global long-distance voice, data and video products and services, and local telephone service to more than four million subscriber lines in 17 states.
