             WEDNESDAY, NOV. 27, ON MID-MANHATTAN'S EAST SIDE
    NEW YORK, Nov. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Cineplex Odeon Corporation (NYSE: CPX) announced today that the newly constructed six screen First & 62nd Cinemas is confirmed to open to the public on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 1991.
    The free standing cinema complex, the first six screen cinema ever constructed on mid-Manhattan's east side, is located on the southeast corner of First Avenue and 62nd Street.
    The newly constructed 50,000-square-foot multi-level theater features a contemporary/art deco interior with a striking lavender, black and green decor. All of the six spacious cinemas will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including Dolby Stereo Surround Sound Systems. 70mm film projection will be featured in one auditorium. Wide screens provide optimum viewing enjoyment along with the ultimate in comfort with plush seating and conveniently placed cupholders. The Cineplex Odeon First & 62nd Cinemas will seat approximately 2,000 moviegoers. Matinees will be presented daily.
    For the benefit of hearing-impaired patrons, all auditoriums will be equipped with the Siennheiser Infrared Listening systems. This free listening system provides both hearing-aid users and non-users alike, with amplified sound through headsets which are provided, upon request, at no cost. In addition, all auditoriums are completely handicapped- accessible via ramps and an elevator.
    Cineplex Odeon's First & 62nd Cinemas will offer a money-saving $4 validated reduced parking policy at Quik Park, located adjacent to the theater, with parking entrances on both 61st and 62nd Streets. This reduced parking program offers a maximum of five hours of parking for only $4 once the Quik Park parking stub is validated by the box office cashier at the time of ticket purchase.
    Inaugural attractions include:  "My Girl," which will be presented on three screens, and starting Friday, Dec. 6, in 70mm, "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country."
    Cineplex Odeon Corporation is one of North America's largest theater circuits with approximately 1,703 screens in 405 locations. With the opening of the Cineplex Odeon First & 62nd Cinemas, Cineplex Odeon will operate 180 screens in 54 locations in the New York/New Jersey area and 52 screens in 23 locations within the borough of Manhattan.
