 CINEMARK USA REPORTS INCREASED SECOND QUARTER RESULTS
 DALLAS, Aug. 11/ PRNewswire/ -- Cinemark USA, Inc. today reported that its revenues for the second quarter ended June 30, 1992 were up 31 percent to $48.8 million from $37.3 million in the same period last year. Net income for the period was $1.28 million compared to $.27 million a year earlier. Included in net income for the period was a net extraordinary loss of $.375 million related to a gain on a debt compromise ($1.155 million) and a loss on early extinguishment of debt ($1.53 million).
 Operating income for the second quarter was $5.5 million compared to $2.4 million in the same period last year. Operating income before non cash expenditures (EBITDA), a key measure of the company's cash flow, was $8.4 million for the second quarter of 1992 vs. $5.1 million for the second quarter of 1991, an increase of 65 percent. Cinemark's President, Lee Roy Mitchell, said the results are an indication of more successful film product and Cinemark's improved operating margins.
 For the six month period ended June 30, 1992, revenues increased 19 percent to $92.8 million compared to $77.6 million for the year ago six month period. Net income rose 97 percent to $4.2 million from $2.1 million.
 Operating income for the six month period ended June 30, 1992 increased 53 percent to $10.9 million from $7.1 million. EBITDA increased 34 percent to $16.8 million from $12.5 million in the year ago period.
 Cinemark USA, Inc., headquartered in Dallas, Texas, is the sixth largest motion picture exhibitor in the United States in terms of the number of theatre screens operated. At August 10, 1992, the company operated 982 screens in 25 states.
