CINEMA: LIFE SENTENCE; JOHN MALKOVICH.

Born on December 9, 1953 in Christopher, Illinois, John's parents owned a local newspaper, but instead of becoming a journalist he turned to acting while at Illinois State University - on graduating he helped found Chicago's Steppenwolf theatre company, and won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination on his screen debut, as a blind lodger in Places In The Heart (1984); he then appeared in films including The Killing Fields (1984), Dangerous Liaisons (1988) and In The Line Of Fire (1993), and is now starring in Johnny English with Rowan Atkinson.
