CIDX Releases New Chem eStandards.

The Chemical Industry Data Exchange (CIDX) has released version 2.0.1 of the Chem e-Standards and will publish a version 3.0 in the fall, according to company executives. "This sub-release is a part of our continuing effort to enhance and further develop XML-based standards to improve the ease, speed and cost effectiveness of conducting business electronically between chemical companies and their trading partners," said Patricia Simmons, executive director, CIDX. She added that a number of firms will begin conducting e-business transactions using the new version 2.0.1 shortly.

Version 3.0 will include five additional XML-based messages: certificate of analysis, invoice response, shipment status request, price availability request and price availability response.
