CICS Achieves OHSAS 18001.
OHSAS 18001 is an international assessment specification for occupational health and safety management systems. It helps organisations to promote a safe and healthy working environment and has been aligned with other standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
CICS use qualified auditors with extensive experience over a wide range of industry sectors. They also have great knowledge of quality and environmental certification standards, allowing for seamless integration of these with OHSAS 18001.
Tim Watts, CMIOSH, Operations Manager at CICS, says: "Health and safety is an area where our clients are increasingly requiring independent certification, we therefore made the decision earlier this year to add UKAS accreditation to this service. Following a structured strategic framework OHSAS 18001 helps to protect an organisation's workforce, reduce potential for accidents, improve operational effectiveness and performance and ultimately reduce costs. In addition, the accreditation of the service we have been providing for many years reinforces our commitment to meeting clients' requirements."
