CIC and Cloakware Partner to Deliver a Secure Signature Authentication Solution for Mobile Devices.

Business Editors/High-Tech Writers

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 9, 2000

Communication Intelligence Corporation ("CIC"),(Nasdaq:CICI) the leading supplier of natural input and electronic signature solutions, today announced that it has agreed to a joint development and licensing agreement with Cloakware Corporation to integrate Cloakware's tamper-resistant software with CIC's electronic signature solutions.

The development effort is expected to result in a secure application for mobile devices that will facilitate e-business and financial transactions.

F.B. Fallah, president and CEO for Cloakware, stated, "We chose to work with CIC because they have one of the most robust dynamic signature verification biometrics on the market today. By combining the Cloakware technology with CIC's solution, we will be able to provide an innovative and simple yet secure solution to mobile device security."

Guido DiGregorio, president and CEO for CIC commented, "Biometric authentication using our signature verification is quick, non-invasive and unique to each given user. As financial and e-commerce transactions via wireless devices increases so does the ability for people to try to access sensitive information stored on these devices. This partnership will provide a secure method to protect e-wallet information or other key containers."

Cloakware Technology is a patent-pending tamper-resistant software technology that performs deep structural changes in the data flow, program control structures and large data structures, such as arrays. Cloakware protects executable programs, unlike cryptography, which protects data and files. A software program is fed through the Cloakware encoder, resulting in a "cloaked" file that can be run or executed just like an uncloaked file.

Unlike alpha-numeric passwords, which can be guessed or forgotten, signature verification provides a natural way to authenticate an individual. The Company has introduced three products, Inktools(TM), iSign(TM) and Sign-it(R) to enable enterprise applications to employ this technology for approval of electronic forms, e-commerce or on-line transactions. Additional information about the application being developed by CIC and Cloakware will be announced at a later date.
