CHRYSLER TRUCKS BEAT RECORD FOR CALENDAR YEAR SALES

 HIGHLAND PARK, Mich., Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- With the model year barely out of the way, Chrysler Corporation (NYSE: C) today set a calendar year record for truck sales in the U.S. market, topping the previous record of 1,033,426 set in 1992. This morning's sales totaled 1,034,053. Chrysler truck sales are expected to top 1,200,000 by year end.
 Chrysler trucks have posted monthly sales records in 13 of the past 14 months, and have posted 27 consecutive monthly increases, measured year to year. Through October, truck sales are running 20 percent ahead of a year ago.
 Chrysler Town & Country, Plymouth Voyager and Dodge Caravan have led the charge with seven consecutive monthly sales records earlier this year and by totaling more than a half-million sales for the first time ever in the model year. Through October, minivan sales are running 12 percent ahead of a year ago.
 Total Jeep(R) vehicle sales have set 14 consecutive monthly records and smashed the previous calendar year record in September of this year. Through October, total Jeep(R) sales are running 59 percent ahead of a year ago.
