CHRYSLER TO HOLD ITS FIRST WORLDWIDE DEALER PREVIEW
HIGHLAND PARK, Mich., Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- For the first time in

Chrysler Corporation (NYSE: C) history, dealers from the United States, Canada, Mexico and Chrysler International will gather for a single meeting to preview its new models.
The 1993 Worldwide Announcement Show is scheduled in Las Vegas, Aug. 26-28.
Nearly 10,000 people, representing all the domestic brands: Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge, Dodge Truck, Jeep and Eagle, and Chrysler Canada, will join their international counterparts to preview the 1993 model cars and trucks and learn about the corporation's plans.
"This is a pivotal year for the Chrysler family," said E.T. (Tom) Pappert, vice president of Sales. "We are launching our revolutionary new mid-size sedans, welcoming our new vice chairman, Bob Eaton, and paying tribute to our chairman, Lee Iacocca. What better way to celebrate than to have the whole team together."
To open the two-day conference on Wednesday, Eaton; Robert A. Lutz, Chrysler president; Theodor (cq) R. Cunningham, executive vice president - Sales & Marketing; and John B. Damoose, vice president - Marketing, will share sales and marketing plans for all the new products with the U.S. dealers. They'll be joined by Pappert and Thomas T. Stallkamp, vice president - Procurement & Supplier Operations and general manager - Large Car Operations.
Thursday's schedule includes seminars on a variety of dealer business topics, including the all-new mid-size car launch, customer and sales satisfaction and leasing.
In addition, Joseph E. Cappy, vice president - International Operations, will speak to the international distributors.
All the '93 models will be showcased in a car and truck salon throughout the conference.
The history-making event will wrap up Thursday evening with a general session in the Thomas & Mack Arena where all the worldwide dealers and distributors will hear Iacocca address them for the last time as chairman of Chrysler. A celebration of the '93 model "New Year" will follow at the Las Vegas Hilton.
Chrysler is taking advantage of having all its dealers in one location by scheduling a number of additional meetings normally held at other times. On Tuesday, Aug. 25, some 500 Dodge dealers will attend a special Dodge Viper informational and ride program. On the Friday after the announcement show, Chrysler will conduct meetings for its sales and service field organization, dealer advertising associations and its minority dealer groups.
"Being able to conduct these additional meetings during the same trip will save the dealers and the corporation a lot of time and money," said Pappert. "Our dollars are doing double duty -- making us more productive while also giving us an outstanding launch pad for our '93 products and marketing effort. We're looking forward to a busy but very worthwhile event in Las Vegas."
