CHRYSLER TECHNOLOGIES CHAIRMAN JOINS ODETICS BOARD

 ANAHEIM, Calif., May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Odetics (AMEX: O.A, O.B) announced today that Paul E. Wright, chairman of Chrysler Technologies Corp., Arlington, Va., will join the Odetics board of directors on June 18, 1993.
 "Paul Wright is one of the most respected names in our industry," said Joel Slutzky, chairman and chief executive officer of Odetics. "His experience spans both commercial and government companies. He brings a unique blend of business, technical and management acumen that will significantly strengthen our board of directors."
 Slutzky also noted that Wright is the first addition to the Odetics board of directors. "It is expected that as the company grows, Odetics will continue to strengthen its board by adding outside directors," Slutzky said.
 Wright has served as chairman of Chrysler Technologies Corp. since 1988. In addition, he was president and chief operating officer of Fairchild Industries Inc. from 1986 to 1988. Prior to joining Fairchild, he spent 28 years with RCA Corp., during which he served in a variety of positions including senior vice president responsible for planning RCA's merger into General Electric.
 Wright received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from California Polytechnic State University and his master's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, he is a graduate of the Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program.
