CHRYSLER REPORTS U.S. AND CANADIAN ASSEMBLY PLANT SCHEDULE FOR WEEK ENDING JULY 9

 HIGHLAND PARK, Mich., July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Chrysler Corporation (NYSE: C) reports four of its eight U.S. assembly plants and one of its three Canadian assembly plants will operate next week.
 The company's U.S. offices and plants will not operate on Monday, July 5, because of the July 4 holiday.
 St. Louis (Fenton, Mo.) Assembly Plant II will operate three seven- hour shifts each day next week.
 Jefferson North (Detroit) Assembly Plant will operate two eight-hour shifts each day next week.
 Sterling Heights (Mich.) Assembly Plant will operate two eight-hour shifts each day next week.
 New Mack Avenue Viper (Detroit) Assembly Plant will operate one eight-hour shift each day next week.
 In Canada, Bramalea (Ontario) Assembly Plant will operate two six- hour shifts on Saturday, July 3, and one 10-hour shift on Sunday, July 4. The plant will also operate two eight-hour shifts each day next week.
 Windsor (Ontario) Assembly Plant will not operate next week because of model changeover. About 3,300 hourly people will be on temporary layoff. The plant will resume production the week of July 19.
 Pillette (Ontario) Assembly Plant will not operate next week due to model changeover. About 1,800 hourly people will be on temporary layoff. The plant will resume production the week of Aug. 2.
 As previously announced, Toledo (Ohio), Newark (Del.), Dodge City (Warren, Mich.) and Belvidere (Ill.) assembly plants will not operate next week because of model changeover. Toledo will resume production the week of July 19. Newark will resume production the week of July 12. Dodge City will resume production the week of July 19, and Belvidere will resume production the week of Nov. 29.
