 CHRYSLER REPORTS RECORD SHIPMENTS FROM DETROIT AUTO SHOW;
 INTERNATIONAL MEDIA SHIP 6,580 POUNDS OF PRESS MATERIALS
 DETROIT, Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Chrysler Corporation (NYSE: C), America's largest exporter of vehicles to Europe, this week claimed a new export record -- Chrysler is the largest international exporter of press kits from Detroit's 1992 North American International Auto Show.
 Chrysler's International Operations, in cooperation with TNT Skypak International Express Service, offered to cover the cost of shipping the press materials of overseas journalists gathered at the Auto Show back to their home country. More than 175 journalists from 29 countries took Chrysler up on its offer, shipping 6,580 pounds of press materials.
 "If the three-and-a-quarter tons of paper we shipped were placed end to end, the pages would stretch nine miles, roughly from Cobo Hall to our Jefferson North Assembly Plant and back again," said A.C. "Bud" Liebler, Chrysler vice president - Communications.
 "We shipped to nearly every country in Europe, as well as to Japan, Korea, Australia, Canada and Czechoslovakia. We even sent one shipment to Moscow. The old Detroit Auto Show has indeed gone international.
 "Chrysler had five important press introductions at the Detroit show this week, including our smashing introduction of the all-new Jeep Grand Cherokee and the unveiling of our new Dodge Viper and 1993 LH models," Liebler said. "So we are especially interested in the press materials getting back to the journalists' offices, even if we had to ship some competitive information along with ours."
 This is the second year Chrysler has provided this complimentary shipping service. Last year Chrysler and TNT Skypak shipped 2,270 pounds of Auto Show press materials from the Auto Show's Michelin Media Center to 75 journalists in 23 countries.
