CHRYSLER RECOGNIZES TOP DEALERS

HIGHLAND PARK, Mich., March 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Chrysler Corporation (NYSE: C) has recognized its best selling dealers, based on 1992 calendar year sales, in each of its three divisions.
Top honors went to Lynn Hickey Dodge in Oklahoma City; Reedman Chrysler-Plymouth in Langhorne, Pa.; and Don-A-Vee Jeep-Eagle in Bellflower, Calif.
"These dealerships are succeeding, in part, because they've recognized that our 'Customer One' training program is truly a cultural change in automotive retailing," said Tom Pappert, Chrysler's vice president of Sales. "Their intent is to become transportation specialists who encompass all of today's customer needs."
Lynn Hickey Dodge, with 2,848 new vehicle sales in 1992, had more new vehicle retail sales than any other U.S. Chrysler Corporation dealership, among all divisions.
Lynn Hickey has consistently been a member of the Dodge Charger Club, a select organization of the best-selling Dodge dealers nationwide who sell more than 1,200 new vehicles yearly.
"Part of our sales success is attributable to the willingness of my employees to go out of their way to please customers," Hickey said. "Unique services, such as valet parking, baby-sitting service, and Saturday hours, also give us a marketing advantage."
Reedman Chrysler-Plymouth sold 2,267 vehicles last year, outselling all other Chrysler-Plymouth dealerships. Ralph Reedman Jr., president of Reedman Chrysler-Plymouth, also owns Reedman Dodge, the second- highest selling Dodge dealership in the U.S. with sales of 2,606.
"We attribute our success to providing the best possible service to our customers," said Reedman. "We also have exciting new products in the lineup that has helped bring people into our showroom."
 The Don-A-Vee Jeep-Eagle sold 2,141 vehicles last year, a 10.8-percent increase from 1991.
"The new Jeep(R) Grand Cherokee definitely contributed to our sales record," said Clive Skilton, president of Don-A-Vee Jeep-Eagle. "But, more importantly, the Grand Cherokee and the new Eagle Vision have attracted upscale, upper-income buyers to the dealership. We're seeing sales success in a new demographic audience for us. Lastly, the repositioned Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler are being well received in Southern California."
