CHRYSLER MINIVANS, JEEP/EAGLE DIVISION AND CHRYSLER TRUCKS SET NEW MODEL YEAR SALES RECORDS

 HIGHLAND PARK, Mich., Aug. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Chrysler Corporation (NYSE: C) reported that Chrysler minivans, Jeep/Eagle Division and Chrysler trucks set new individual sales records for model year 1993, with nearly two months to go in the model year.
 Sales of Chrysler's popular Plymouth Voyager, Dodge Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country reached 443,870 as of Aug. 10, 1993, breaking the model year sales record of 443,790 set in 1992. With sales on the three vehicles running 17 percent ahead of last year, projections indicate Chrysler will surpass 500,000 minivans sold by the conclusion of the 1993 model year on Sept. 30.
 Jeep/Eagle Division reported model year sales of 369,141 through Aug. 10, eclipsing the 1989 record of 337,648. Jeep Truck continues to build on its model year record with sales of 306,404 units, eclipsing the record of 262,434 set in 1989.
 Total Chrysler truck sales surpassed the one million mark and set a model year sales record of 1,007,964 units sold as of July 31. The previous record was 1,006,523, set in model year 1988.
