CHRYSLER LAUNCHES EQUIPMENT REBATE ON ACCLAIM, SPIRIT & LEBARON
HIGHLAND PARK, Mich., Aug. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Chrysler Corporation (NYSE: C) today announced a new "No-Charge Equipment Sale" incentive for retail buyers of 1992 model Plymouth Acclaim, Dodge Spirit and Chrysler LeBaron mid-size sedans, effective Thursday, Aug. 13, through Oct. 31.
The sale provides seven items of equipment -- with a sticker value of $1,605 -- at no charge in addition to an existing national consumer rebate at the time of delivery. The current national rebate is $1,000.
Equipment includes: air conditioning, tilt steering wheel, automatic speed control, two extra speakers, floor mats, electric rear defroster and tinted glass.
Customers will receive this additive rebate whether or not this equipment is standard or optional. Approximately 99 percent of field stock has the eligible equipment. Customers must take delivery out of dealer stock during the program period. The equipment incentive is in addition to the customer's choice of the $1,000 rebate or alternative APR financing rates ranging from 4.9, 6.9, 7.9 and 9.9 percent for terms of 1-24 months, 25-36, 37-48 and 49-60, respectively.
Chrysler also announced an increase in the national consumer incentive on 1991 model Acclaim, Spirit and LeBaron sedans from $1,000 to $1,500, effective Thursday, Aug. 13, through Sept. 30. Alternative APR financing rates are unchanged. The '91 models are not eligible for the "No-Charge Equipment Sale."

Chrysler will support the Plymouth Acclaim, Dodge Spirit and Chrysler LeBaron sedan "No-Charge Equipment Sale" with a national advertising campaign beginning Friday, Aug. 14, supplemented by dealer association advertising. Emphasis will be on "lowest prices ever" for these mid-size sedans.
The campaign will feature a six-passenger Acclaim or Spirit equipped with automatic transmission and highlighting the $1,000 cash rebate and the no-charge equipment, resulting in a $11,177 Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price.
Network advertising is scheduled on CBS' NFL Football, evening news programs, ABC and CNN Republican Convention coverage, ABC's "Wide World of Sports" and additional cable programming.
Print advertising is scheduled in USA Today, weekly news magazines, Sports Illustrated, People and Entertainment Weekly.
