 CHRYSLER INTERNATIONAL SALES GROWTH CONTINUES:
 NOVEMBER SALES UP 19 PERCENT
HIGHLAND PARK, Mich., Dec. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- International sales of Chrysler vehicles in November were up 19 percent, with sales of 4,099 vs. 3,444
in 1990. European sales totaled 2,885 units, up 11 percent for the month, while other international markets recorded an increase of 43 percent.
For the first 11 months of 1991, Chrysler's international sales were up 8 percent over 1990, led by strong sales of Voyager minivans in Europe and growing worldwide sales of Jeep Cherokee and Wrangler models.
January to November sales in Europe rose 7 percent to 41,234 units from 38,652 in 1990, topping last year's total sales of 41,037. In international markets outside Europe, Chrysler sales were up 13 percent with 14,447 units sold vs. 12,808 in 1990.
Voyager sales in Europe were up 44 percent for the 11-month period at 16,323 units, accounting for 40 percent of Chrysler's total European sales -- an increase from 29 percent in the same period last year. Voyager holds a 22.1 percent share of Europe's compact van market, up from 15.6 percent a year ago.
Sales of Jeep Cherokee remains strong, together with Voyager representing 63 percent of Chrysler's sales outside North America.
In international markets outside Europe, Middle East sales continue strong with 11-month sales of 7,166 versus less than 500 in 1990. Germany continues to lead all European markets with 12,429 units sold, an increase of 28 percent over 1990, and 30 percent of Chrysler's total year-to-date sales in Europe.
