CHRYSLER ESTABLISHES A LOW-COST SELLING/PURCHASING PROGRAM FOR ODDLOT HOLDERS

HIGHLAND PARK, Mich., July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Chrysler Corporation (NYSE: C) today announced that it has established a low-cost selling/purchasing program for stockholders who, as of June 18, 1993, owned fewer than 100 shares of its common stock.
The program allows eligible stockholders the opportunity to sell all their shares or to purchase enough additional shares to bring their total holdings up to exactly 100 shares.
Shareholder Communications Corporation will coordinate the program. Shares tendered for sale will be matched with purchase orders. Remaining shares will be sold into the open market. Chrysler Corporation will not, however, be purchasing or selling any of these shares.
Participating stockholders will not be charged a brokerage commission but will pay a small processing fee of 50 cents per share sold or bought.
The program is intended to reduce Chrysler's overall administrative costs for shareholder services. For shareholders owning a limited number of shares of Chrysler stock, the program offers an economic method to liquidate a small number of shares.
Approximately 129,300 registered small shareholders are eligible for the program that runs from July 7 to Aug. 6, 1993.
