CHRYSLER ADDS UNIQUE EQUIPMENT DISCOUNT TO ALREADY POPULAR MINIVANS
HIGHLAND PARK, Mich., April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Chrysler is making its hot minivan market hotter.
The corporation today announced "Chrysler's First National Minivan Sale" which offers cash discounts on standard and optional equipment in addition to current consumer cash rebates on 1991 and '92 model minivans. The program runs through June 22, 1992.
Customers may choose any one or more of the following equipment discounts: $100 off the integrated child seat, $200 off sunscreen glass, $300 off rear air conditioning, $300 off Quad Command seats, $300 off Anti-lock Brake Systems and $500 off leather seats. The better equipped the vehicle, the greater the discount ... and the discount can be used just like consumer cash.
At maximum, the equipment discounts add up to $1,600. Coupled with the current $500 national consumer rebate, the total cash savings could be as high as $2,100. Regional incentives in California and Hawaii could raise the total to $2,600. Customers have the alternative of choosing low annual percentage rate financing instead of the $500 national consumer rebate.
Eligible vehicles are 1991-92 Chrysler Corporation minivans, excluding Dodge commercial minivans, delivered from dealer stock during the program period with any of the above factory-installed discounted equipment.
In addition, 1992 model long wheelbase Chrysler, Dodge or Plymouth minivans which dealers order by May 15 and deliver to a customer within five working days of the date received in the dealership, will be eligible for the additional equipment discount.
"Our minivan sales are up and our market share is strong, but our dealers always are interested in a special program that can heat up the market," said E.T. (Tom) Pappert, Chrysler Corporation's vice president of Sales. "This program is unique. If minivans are what consumers want, our goal is to produce and sell as many minivans as we can."
Pappert said dealer minivan stocks are ample -- a 70-day supply, and orders continue strong. Further, Chrysler's long wheelbase minivan plant in St. Louis is now geared up for a three-shift production.
