 CHRYSLER'S INTERNATIONAL SALES UP 27 PERCENT IN JANUARY;
 TAIWAN POSTS MONTHLY SALES RECORD
 HIGHLAND PARK, Mich., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Chrysler (NYSE: C) today reported a 27-percent increase in international sales in January, led by a 28-percent increase in European sales and Taiwan's first monthly sales in excess of 1,000 units. January sales in markets outside of North America totaled 5,679 units compared with 4,460 in 1991.
 European sales increased to 3,745 units in 1992 from 2,918 in 1991, aided by a 155-percent increase in Chrysler Voyager minivan sales. European minivan sales of 1,709 units represented 46 percent of the vehicles Chrysler sold in Europe in the first month of 1992. The Voyager is Chrysler's top-selling European model.
 Sales in Holland were up 157 percent and France recorded a 77-percent increase over January 1991. Sales in Germany remain strong, up 10 percent to 1,073 units.
 In markets outside of North American and Europe, Chrysler sales rose 23 percent to 1,889 vs. 1,537 in January a year ago. They were paced by a nearly seven-fold increase in vehicle sales in Taiwan, where a record 1,033 units were sold compared to 148 units in January 1991. Sales in Taiwan were bolstered by strong sales of Dodge Spirit/Plymouth Acclaim and Dodge Dynasty/Chrysler New Yorker Salon models.
 In January, Voyager became Chrysler's top-selling international model with sales of 1,711 units. The Voyager performance was buoyed by rapidly growing sales in Europe, where it now holds 20-percent share of the European medium passenger wagon market. Jeep Cherokee is a close second with 1,651 units sold in international markets in January.
