CHRYSLER'S EATON NAMED TO SAVINGS BOND CAMPAIGN

 HIGHLAND PARK, Mich., Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert J. Eaton, chairman and CEO of Chrysler Corporation (NYSE: C), was named chairman of the 1994 Detroit area U.S. Savings Bond Campaign. Secretary of the Treasury Lloyd Bentsen made the appointment.
 Eaton will kick off the Detroit area campaign at a luncheon Feb. 21. William C. Ferguson, chairman of the 1994 U.S. Savings Bond National Volunteer Committee, is the campaign luncheon's guest speaker. Ferguson, a Michigan native, is chairman and CEO of the NYNEX Corporation.
 In addition to chairing the Metropolitan Detroit Savings Bond Committee, Eaton is a fellow of both the Society of Automotive Engineers and the Engineering Society of Detroit and is a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
 Eaton is chairman of the American Automobile Manufacturers Association and is a member of The Business Council, The Business Roundtable, The Trilateral Commission, the Business-Higher Education Forum and the U.S./Japan Business Council. He also is a director of Detroit Renaissance, United Way of Southeastern Michigan, Economic Alliance for Michigan, Economic Club of Detroit, Detroit Symphony Orchestra and the Michigan Leaders Health Care Group.
 The U.S. Savings Bond Volunteer Committee, formerly the U.S. Industrial Payroll Savings Committee, was established in 1963. During its 30-year history it has been responsible for enrolling tens of millions of new payroll savers. The National Committee leads a volunteer effort involving thousands of volunteers from business, banking, government, labor and the media throughout the country.
