 CHRISTOPHER T. LINEN NAMED PRESIDENT, WARNER MUSIC ENTERPRISES
 NEW YORK, Nov. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert J. Morgado, chairman, Warner Music Group Inc., announced the appointment of Christopher T. Linen as president of the newly created Warner Music Enterprises. Warner Music Enterprises is charged with developing a wide range of new music-related business opportunities including direct marketing vehicles worldwide.
 In making the announcement, Morgado stated, "Through our working relationship with Time Warner Publishing we have come to appreciate the tremendous direct marketing expertise within the Time Warner family. We are very fortunate that we have an individual with Chris's high level experience that will help us jump start our entry into important new areas."
 Linen added, "The opportunity to create new direct marketing efforts within the Warner Music Group represents a wonderful challenge. I am particularly pleased that while my new position with the Music Group encompasses the worldwide marketplace, I will also continue to enjoy my valued, long-term professional relationships with associates at Time Warner Publishing. The vast resources of Time Warner Inc. give my new assignment significant advantages which I look forward to exploiting."
 Prior to assuming his new position Linen served as president, Time Warner direct which includes Time-Life Inc. (formerly Time-Life Books, Inc.), one of the world's largest direct marketers of books, music and videocassettes, and Book-of-the-Month Club, Inc., which operates eight book clubs.
 Formerly, Linen was president and chief executive officer of Time- Life Books, Inc., a position he held since 1986. Linen began his career at Time Inc. in 1975 as area manager for Time-Life Books' Southeast Asia based in Singapore and Hong Kong. He moved to Alexandria, Va., in 1979 as operations manager of Time-Life Books' International operations and in 1980 went to Mexico City as area manager and then managing director for Latin America.
 In 1983 Linen returned to the Time Life Books' headquarters in Alexandria, as vice president, international. In January 1985 he was appointed senior vice president of marketing and became executive vice president the following year.
 A New York City native, Linen attended the Hotchkiss School in Connecticut and the American School in Lugano, Switzerland. He graduated from Williams College and attended the Graduate School of Business Administration at New York University. Linen is the general chairman and chief operating officer of the 1991 Caples Awards in direct marketing.
