 CHRISTINE HANSON APPOINTED VICE PRESIDENT OF MCA INC.
 UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Feb. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Christine R. Hanson


has been appointed a vice president of MCA Inc. (NYSE: MCA) it was announced today by Sid Sheinberg, president and chief operating officer of MCA Inc. Hanson will continue to head the Office of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, which includes MCA's media and community relations, public relations, and also involves employee communications.
 In making this appointment, Sheinberg commented, "Lew Wasserman and I feel that over the last year Christine has not only handled the formation and implementation of a comprehensive long-term communications program for the company, but has also taken on an increased level of responsibility for the company in these and other areas. Given the nature and complexity of her position and her proven leadership and expertise, it is appropriate that she be elevated to this position."
 Hanson began her career with MCA in 1974 and was appointed assistant corporate secretary in 1985. During the latter part of 1990, she was corporate spokeswoman and media contact for MCA Inc. during merger negotiations with Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd. In January 1991, she was chosen to head MCA Inc..'s newly created Office of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs.
 Additionally, Hanson announced that David E. Zimmer has been promoted to communications manager, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs. Zimmer's responsibilities will include managing the production and editorial content of employee and corporate publications as well as coordinating special communications and media projects.
 Zimmer joined MCA in 1990, serving as staff writer for MCA Records' Publicity Department before becoming senior communications coordinator, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, in July 1991. Prior to his tenure with MCA, Zimmer was a music industry journalist for 13 years, most recently Los Angeles editor of BAM: the California Music Magazine.
