CHRISTIAN PURCHASING NETWORK ANNOUNCES SIX-FOLD INCREASE IN LANIER WORLDWIDE MARKET VENTURE

 SARASOTA, Fla., Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Christian Purchasing Network (NASDAQ: CPNI) announced today that the Imaging Systems Division of Lanier Worldwide Inc. had received its annual "Most Outstanding Partner Award" for 1992. The two companies signed a joint marketing agreement in January of 1991 that enabled Lanier to supply copier services and products to Christian denominations. Monthly sales grew from $159,000 in January 1992 to $734,000 in December of 1992. The Christian Purchasing Network Program was established in 1992 as a means of recognizing marketing partners who exceed the standards of excellence embodied in the program.
 Lance Herrin, Lanier Worldwide Inc., commented that, "Lanier is pleased that the access to this niche market has provided incremental revenue growth as we had anticipated. We are convinced that our 'Total Customer Vision' program has driven the success of this new market development."
 Thomas J. McElheny, chief executive officer of Christian Purchasing Network, said that, "The Lanier relationship has become the model partnership. We have fulfilled our mutual objectives of providing quality products and services to Christian denominations throughout the country with a pricing structure that offers substantial savings over conventional pricing." The company recently announced a similar joint marketing venture with Arthur J. Gallagher (NYSE: AJG), the nation's eighth-largest insurance broker.
 Christian Purchasing Network is a niche marketer of financial services and capital goods to the Christian community. The Financial Services division provides investment advisory and portfolio management services to institutional and individual investors. The Church Products division brokers a select market basket of value-added goods and services to the church market through group pricing and service contracts. Christian Purchasing Network, founded in 1989, is headquartered in Sarasota.
